What are the Troubleshooting Methods for Electrical Transformer?

2025-04-21

The circuit fault problem of electrical transformer mainly refers to short circuits at the transformer outlet, short circuits to ground between the internal leads or windings of the transformer, and short circuits caused by phase-to-phase faults. In fact, this type of fault is a common problem among many faults of electrical transformer. For the short circuit problem at the low-voltage outlet, in order to solve the problem, it generally needs to replace the winding at the faulty part. In severe cases, all windings may need to be replaced to minimize the probability of failure and greatly reduce the serious economic and personal property losses caused by power outages.

Winding fault problems can be specifically divided into cracking problems at welding joints, phase-to-phase short circuits, turn-to-turn short circuits, and winding grounding faults. The reason for this type of problem is the insulation problem of the winding transformer, impurities entering the winding, aging of the insulator, insufficient force during the operation of the transformer, and deformation of the winding.

Transformer oil leakage is a common fault in the entire electrical transformer system. As a safety hazard, this problem will greatly affect the safe and stable operation of it, and in severe cases may cause failure of the machine equipment. It should also be noted that this fault will affect the service quality of the power company and have a great negative impact on providing safe and scientific services to electricity users.

The temperature and height of the fault joint refer to the transformer current-carrying joint, which has always played an important role in the design of the entire transformer. Due to the unstable connection of the transformer current-carrying joint, the temperature at the joint rises rapidly, even exceeding the ignition point of the joint, causing the joint to burn out, affecting the safe and stable operation of the electrical transformer.
